Checklist for Formatting the APA Paper

An APA paper needs the following, all of which are easily created with your word processor.

• Has a title page
• Has a header with text and numbering starting on the title page
• Has headings in the text to separate topics
• Citations are used correctly
• Is double spaced
• Margins are 1 inch all around
• References are on a separate page
• References are in a hanging paragraph format
• References are listed alphabetically
• A good edit has been done!
