On Land! April 26
It was a sad day when we had to leave our four month home and say good-bye to all our new friends. Sailing friends from our Saginaw Days, the Lois and George McAllan picked me up at the end of the trip and I spent a few days with them at their lovely home in Vero Beach. On the 28th they took me to the airport in Orlando, and I flew home and back to reality, with many wonderful memories, but saddness that it was now just a memory. I learned a few overall things that I would like to share.
1. We have all had a Eurocentric education which leaves us handicapped in dealing with Asia and its long history and different philosophies.
2. The majority of people everywhere wants the same thing – safety, security, and a good life with better for their children. If only those in power could understand...
3. It may be a large geographical world, but it is small with today’s transportation, even at 18 miles per hour and many detours it only took a little less than 4 months to circumnavigate the globe..
4. There is a lot of trade etc. that occurs that has no relationship to the U.S.
