Word Processing Page Views |
Last Updated: June 16, 2003
There are two ways to work with a word processing document, either focusing on the document that is being created (normal or draft mode), or focusing on how the page will look when printed (Print Layout).
In the normal or draft view, you see just the text. Current soft page breaks are indicated by a dotted (Word) or solid (Word Perfect) line. A forced page break will be indicated by the words "Page Break" in the middle of the line (Word) or a double line (Word Perfect). In this view, headers, and page numbering are not visible,
In the print view, a page break breaks are shown with a space. Any headers and footers will be visible in this mode.
The print view works well for checking the looks of a document before printing, but it can be distracting when you are trying to write. Thus, many people write in normal (Draft in Word Perfect) view.
To change views, Click on Views on the Menu Line and in Word select "Normal" and in Word Perfect "Draft."
