Changing Page Margins

Papers in the APA format need to have one inch margins. One of the more popular word processors today comes with the default margins set at 1.25 inches.

Change page margins for :

 

Word

  1. On the menu line click on File>Page Set up
  2. Click on the Margins tab
  3. Make sure that "Apply to whole document" is visible in the lower right quadrant of the margins window. If not, click on the drop down arrow and select it.
  4. Change margins by entering the number of inches for the desired margin into the appropriate window and clicking "OK."
NOTE: If you wish to make this the default, click on default in the lower left corner of the dialog box before clicking "OK."

Word Perfect

  1. Click on Format>Margins
  2. Change margins you wish to change by entering the number of inches into the appropriate box.
