How to Rename a File

Renaming a file in Windows is the same whether it is done from Windows Explore, or from a file list in a program.

  1. RIGHT click on the current file name.
  2. Click on "Rename."
  3. Delete the old name and enter the new name.

NOTE: If you can see the 3 letter extension be sure to NOT change it. If you inadvertently do, you will receive a warning message telling you that the file type will be changed which may make the file unusable. Click on no and redo the steps above.
